Boris Gindis, Ph.D. presents near Buffalo, NY West Region Bilingual/ESL Technical Assistance Center (BETAC) in cooperation with three local school districts is organizing a two-day conference: Understanding and Meeting the Needs of Adopted English Language Learners (ELLs). The conference will take place in Michael's Banquet Facility, 4885 Southwestern Blvd. Hamburg , New York 14075. The dates are: February 29 and March 1, 2008. Boris Gindis, Ph.D. will present the following topics: School Issues of Internationally Adopted Children School Placement and the Role of Psycho-educational Evaluation of Internationally Adopted Children Post-Institutional Behavior in Internationally Adopted Children Language Lost - Language Found Experience in Children Adopted Internationally This conference is designed for teachers and parents. It is free of charge (lunch is included), but pre-registration is required (no on-site registration). It's a rare opportunity to get teachers and adoptive parents together to discuss school-related issues of internationally adopted children.
